Ash End Grain Chopping Board – Handcrafted Checkerboard Design

Handcrafted from solid Ash, this substantial end grain chopping board combines a distinctive patterned design with a durable surface made for everyday kitchen use.

The board is constructed from individually arranged blocks of Ash, with the grain direction varied throughout to create its checkerboard-style pattern. The natural growth rings produce sweeping curves, lines and subtle geometric shapes across the surface, meaning no two boards will ever look exactly the same.

At 45 mm thick, this is a substantial chopping board with the weight and stability you'd expect from an end grain butcher's block. End grain construction allows the wood fibres to separate slightly as a knife passes between them, helping to reduce wear on both the cutting surface and your knife edges.

The board has bevelled edges for a clean, comfortable finish and non-slip rubber feet underneath to keep it stable on the worktop.

Each board is carefully sanded and finished by hand with my food-safe board conditioner, helping to nourish and protect the timber while bringing out the beautiful natural colour and grain of the Ash.

An optional handcrafted wooden stand is also available, allowing the board to be stored upright when not in use and turning the patterned end grain into a feature on your kitchen worktop.

Care: Hand wash with a damp cloth and mild soapy water. Do not soak or place in a dishwasher. Dry promptly after cleaning and periodically reapply a suitable food-safe board conditioner to help keep the timber protected.
